We need members who are willing to stand up our committees that will run the organization.  There are zero paid positions in this Association, but everyone's help is needed and appreciated. 

Once each committee is formed the committee members should select a committee head and work together to further define and scope the rules and objectives of the committee. We can then adjust the by-laws to reflect those adjustments.

Volunteers needed for:

Membership, Development, Information, and Finance Committees. There are two additional committees, but they are comprised of Board Members (who we also need--creating another forum for that issue!).

Membership Committee. The Membership Committee shall be composed of three or more members of the Association. This committee will maintain membership rolls and information while developing and executing plans for expanding individual memberships, with an emphasis on lifetime memberships. The Membership Committee will also manage any new member orientation programs. 

Need at least three volunteers, but more is better.  What needs to be done? First, help get the word out to all past and present members of The Fifth Army that the Association is up and running. This includes building a master list of those who served and their contacts so we can all help reach out to them.  Understand the levels of membership so you can answer questions.  Come up with creative ways to increase membership and maintain members.  Provide feedback to all the committees, officers and Board members on what the membership is thinking...are the satisfied with the Association and thus want to stay, or is something not working and they are dissatisfied? You will not be the only ones providing feedback, but you may get the first and most important feedback regardless. Finally, anything else you can think of to build and maintain the membership.

Development Committee. The Development Committee shall be composed of three or more members of the Association. The Development Committee shall be responsible for the organization's fundraising activities, including corporate sponsorships, and shall coordinate its fundraising goals with the Finance Committee and the Membership and Information Committee.

Information Committee. The Information Committee shall ensure members remain informed on the activities of the Association and have a means to find and contact other members of the Association. The committee will maintain an Association website and produce digital newsletters.

Finance Committee. The Finance Committee shall be composed of three or more members of the Association, to include the Treasurer and the Development Committee Chair. The Finance Committee shall oversee all financial operations of the organization, develop long-range fiscal plans, procure and review all external audits, and prepare and recommend an annual operating budget to the Board.  We have a temporary treasurer, but need at least one more volunteer plus whomever become the Development Committee chair is automatically on this committee.

This is our starting position. We (the membership) can change this up, but we want to start with these, get them running, and then make any adjustments. BUT we need some help. Thanks!!
